Nitrification Cascade Reactor System
The nitration reactor is primarily used for the uniform feeding of solid dehydrating agents in verification experiments and evaluation studies on the synthesis of mononitrotoluene, with the side reaction being the synthesis of 2,4,6-trinitrotoluene. The byproduct of this side reaction is highly flammable and explosive, commonly known as TNT. The reaction system contains acidic components, so materials that come into contact with the reactants must not be metallic—including piping and valves. The reactor is installed outdoors in a well‑ventilated, shaded area, and key valves are equipped with automatic control to ensure operator safety. After the reaction is complete, the product is washed with alcohol and then with water; following filtration, settling, and drying, it is dissolved in a suitable solvent, sealed, and stored.
