Polylactic Acid (PLA) Reactor System
This equipment is a polylactic acid (PLA) reactor system, with a designed reactor volume of 2 L and heated via a high‑and‑low temperature circulating oil bath. The main body of the equipment is made from 316L stainless steel. The reactor’s maximum stirring speed is 100 rpm, and the maximum material viscosity is 200 Pa·s. It employs a double‑helix ribbon agitator, and an anti‑creep device is installed at the upper part of the agitator shaft to effectively minimize the material climbing effect along the shaft. The reactor is designed for a working pressure of 10 MPa, with a maximum allowable operating pressure of 6 MPa (negative pressure is used during polymerization experiments, while also accommodating other high‑pressure experiments). The vacuum level in the empty reactor can reach as low as 50 Pa. The design temperature is 350°C, with a maximum operating temperature of 310°C. All components of the system—including the feed hopper, esterification piping, and polycondensation piping—are equipped with heating jackets to prevent low‑temperature crystallization and subsequent blockage of the pipelines. The system utilizes PLC‑plus‑touchscreen configuration for control, enabling real‑time monitoring of the status at each monitoring point, as well as temperature and pressure curves throughout the reaction process—and allows for data export and post‑processing.
