Aggregation Synthesis Reactor

A polymerization reactor is a specialized piece of equipment used to prepare polymeric compounds. It is typically a vertical, cylindrical high‑pressure vessel equipped with a jacket through which steam or chilled water can be circulated for heating or cooling. This type of reactor is suitable for emulsion polymerization and features a horizontal, paddle‑type agitator made of stainless steel, driven by an electric motor via a transmission system and a gearbox. The outer wall of the polymerization reactor is commonly constructed from carbon steel, lined with stainless steel, though some reactors are also lined with enamel. During polymerization, production can be carried out either in a single reactor on an intermittent basis or in a series of multiple reactors in a continuous, cascading process. The polymerization feed enters the lower section of one reactor and flows into the upper section of the next. The reactor is fitted with instruments for monitoring temperature, pressure, and other parameters, as well as inlet and outlet ports for material feeding and discharging.
