Driven by a micro‑pump, the reactants enter the microchannels at a constant flow rate, forming a thin‑layer flow that significantly increases the contact area between the reactants, the photocatalyst, and the light. Reactant molecules excited by light come into contact with the catalyst within the channels, generating active intermediates such as free radicals and holes, which in turn trigger photochemical reactions including oxidation, reduction, or substitution.
