The fixed-bed reactor system is a commonly used reactor type in chemical processes. Its primary characteristic is that the catalyst is immobilized in solid form within the reactor, while the reactants—whether in liquid or gaseous form—pass through the fixed bed and come into contact with the catalyst to undergo chemical reactions. Fixed-bed reactor systems are widely employed in fields such as chemical engineering, petroleum refining, fine chemicals, and environmental protection. For example, in petroleum refining, fixed-bed reactors are used in processes like cracking, reforming, and alkylation; in fine chemicals, they are utilized for the synthesis of dyes, pharmaceuticals, pesticides, and other chemical products; and in environmental protection, they are applied to exhaust gas treatment and wastewater treatment.
